Computer Video

You may have the best team in the world, but without a monitor, you can not even use! Many times people can be so busy trying to find the right equipment, they forget that the monitor that goes with it. The fact is that when you use your computer, the screen is what you are looking all the time. If you have a great team, but a screen poor, it may be time for an update. The question is what you want on a computer screen?

Here are a few things that our product specialists recommend our customers to look for when choosing a computer monitor.

Screen Size: When you buy a monitor, is important that you get a screen that is big enough for you to be able to see the details easily. We recommend monitors 17 inches or more, but slightly smaller can still work for you.

Display Type: In general, two types of screens to choose from, CRT (cathode ray tube) and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). CRT traditionally have better color quality and response time, but as technology has advanced that many liquid crystals that can compete. The advantages of an LCD (flat screen) monitor, is almost always less desk space and is more energy efficient than comparable CRT monitor.

Response time: With the older models with LCD display, or LCD-based models, you often slow response. The rapid response time is how pixels in the monitor on and off. With slower response times, you can see the tracks left by fast moving objects to watch a movie or a video game. We recommend using an LCD monitor that has a response time of less than 16 milliseconds (ms). The faster response time (and number), the best results obtained as far as response time goes.

Tickets: Most monitors come with a standard VGA connection only style, but some may come with many more options. These include contributions to S-video, composite, component or even HDMI. The most important consideration is whether your computer to the card video compatible with at least one of these inputs.

Format: Most monitors are 4:3 (standard) or 16:9 (widescreen) format. If you has no specific preference for one, should be 16:9, it is the format used for HDTV, and you can see more information on the screen at once. 16:9 format is recommended because if you upgrade your computer in the future (which could have a Blu-Ray or HD DVD), you will not have to update your monitor. This will prolong the time you use the monitor and get more from their investment.

Options: You can consider a monitor that has more capacity that the standard features. Some monitors now come with USB hubs, memory card readers, and even speakers. If you want to save desk space this may be a good option for you, but keep in mind that the cost associated with these additional features are high.

Definitions:

CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) A vacuum tube containing an electronic display in which the graphic or alphanumeric information may be published.

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display): This refers to a technology for flat panel display that uses liquid crystals between two glass plates.

Response Time: A measure of how quickly a screen can show a change in the brightness of the screen image.

VGA (Video Graphics Array): a monitor standard has become a word used to describe an image composed of 640 pixels wide by 480 pixels high.

S-Video (Separated Video): An analog video signal that carries video data into two separate signals.

Composite: A single video connector that combines all signals from the color and brightness in a single cable with RCA connector. Often, yellow, which is the most common type of analog video connection between the video players and television sets older.

Component: Video signal in which luminance is recorded and synchronize the information separate from the color information. Component is superior to the compound.

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface): HDMI supports standard video, enhanced or high definition and multi-channel digital audio all in one cable.

Card video: an adapter card used to manage the display on the monitor.

Standard 4:3 Aspect Ratio: The shape of the standard (not widescreen) for television, which simply means that the picture "framework" is 4 units wide to 3 units high.

16:9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio: as a widescreen TV, which means simply the picture "framework" is 16 units wide and 9 units high. This relationship is used for TVs High Definition.

USB (Universal Serial Bus: port connection on a computer that is universally compatible with many types of electronic devices.
